Daniel Fotheringham Podcast

When I was living and working in London, I recorded a bunch of conversations with artists / friends. The concept was to speak to people in the industry of various experience levels and backgrounds, and I had the privilege to even record them in different countries (including Germany, Singapore, England, Wales). Time and life got the better of me and I never released them.

The first one that was recorded was with the very talented Daniel Fotheringham in London, August 2011. We discussed his work flow, the process he uses to animate quadrupeds, and the balance of life and work while living in London.

Running time is: 23:09mins

Thanks to Bryn for listening and motivating me to get this online!

Let me know if I should work on the others and release them eventually.

Harry Potter VFX nominations

Nouche had the awesome experience of working on "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2" during her time at Double Negative, in London. As part of the dragon team, she got to animate the Gringott's dragon during the first action sequence.

And both the Dragon and the battle sequence that were done at DNEG are nominated for some major awards!

Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Feature Motion Picture category for the VES awards

Special Visual Effects category for the BAFTAS - WINNER

Visual Effects Category for the Oscars

Congrats to the entire team who worked on it!

Next Chapter...

The last few months have been pretty crazy busy. We've said goodbye (for now) to London and have relocated back home to Sydney, Australia.

London was in all a great experience, first time living and working overseas and I had the opportunity to work at two of the biggest VFX houses in the world and on some big projects, Alfonso Cuaron's upcoming "Gravity" and Andrew Stanton's "John Carter". Most importantly I met some amazingly talented and unique artists and made some close friends who I will miss and look forward to working with again soon!

Looking forward to what the next couple months bring!
